Learn the science and magic of photography at CEPA Gallery’s uniquely educational and entertaining birthday party for children ages 8 and up. With help from one of our CEPA teaching artists, kids will use photographic paper and chemistry to create their own photograms and pinhole camera photographs.

Parents are encouraged to bring any additional supplies and/or decorations for the party. Parents are also responsible for providing all refreshments, and a number of restaurants are conveniently located near CEPA Gallery.
What is a Photogram?
Kids will place objects onto photographic paper, expose them to light, and then use photo chemistry to develop the print, magically revealing the image!
What is a Pinhole Camera Photograph?
Kids will make pinhole cameras out of quart paint cans, using photographic paper as film. Weather permitting, the children will take pictures outside, then develop their pictures in the darkroom!
Birthday parties must be booked a minimum of 2 weeks in advance. A non-refundable $50 deposit is due at the time of booking. Choose a 2-hour slot from the following days and times:
