This three-hour workshop will focus on food and still-life photography using a small space in your home with natural window light. Regular lenses and the creative use of Lensbaby lenses will be highlighted with practical advice and tips to incorporate their use in this type of photography. How to create your own painted backgrounds and surfaces for this type of photography will be featured. Hands on demo shooting still-life set-ups will be provided to reinforce the information learned in the visual presentation. Post processing using Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop and Nik, Topaz Plug-Ins will be covered to create a variety of moods and tones in your images. Workshop will be held in CEPA’s digital lab with MAC computers and Adobe Creative Suite software but attendees are welcome to bring their own laptop computers (if available) with software installed to benefit with hands on instruction. (Adobe Photoshop/ Lightroom and Topaz software can be downloaded for free 30 day trials prior to class instruction.) Beginner to advanced photographers will all benefit with the information in this workshop.

Gerri started her journey with her camera in 2000 as a creative outlet. She is self-taught and has taken several online courses along the way. She enjoys photographing all subjects and especially the challenge of new ways to see through the creative use of Lensbaby lenses. She has beta tested new lenses for Lensbaby over the past year prior to their release and some of her work can be found on Lensbaby.com.
Gerri’s images have been featured in several publications including, Nature’s Best Magazine, Erie Canal Statewide Photo Calendars, tourism guides, The Discover-Buffalo Niagara Calendars and several local commercial proposals. She also has reviewed several photography books for development by Focal Press Publications. Gerri is a member of Niagara Frontier Regional Camera Clubs and has also been a presenter at other Regional Camera Conferences.
