Artist Statement
As Americans we have always found ourselves sheltered from the daily realities of war. After years of armed conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan, this disconnect became increasingly unnerving to me. Except for the few minutes of airtime on the evening news or a couple articles in the newspaper, these war became part of the mundane life of America, even after numerous scandals and controversies.
This [project is a personal response as an American, dealing with the 10th anniversary of the Iraq war, while trying to find some understanding of how we have gotten to this point, and at what cost.
