CEPA Teaching Artist: Charlie Stiffler

After more than 50 years of imaging, Charlie has spent the last few circling back to the beginning of his work, composition, exposure and processing of film. “I could spend the rest of my life just experimenting with film developers and techniques, and never run out of new lines of inquiry. The choices made in processing film are the most important after the exposure, and frequently never explored”. In his lifetime, he has explored countless facets of photographic imaging from pinholes to customized film chemistry.
