B.1984 in Buffalo, NY. Scheuttle is a Nevada-based artist working in the medium of large format photography. He holds a BFA from SUNY Purchase and is an MFA candidate at the University of Hartford. His work has been exhibited at CEPA Gallery, Albright-Knox Art Gallery, Burchfield Penney Art Center and is in the collection of the Museum of Contemporary Photography. The selected work is from the forthcoming series MorningStar. Set in Southern Nevada, MorningStar is the journey of an outsider into the city of Las Vegas. Working predominantly with a view camera, Scheuttle engages the chaotic city with a sense of stillness. The places and people in MorningStar appear to hang at the edge of a looming storm, illuminated by the harsh sun and endless neon.
