BIO: Marshall Scheuttle (b.1984 in Buffalo, NY) is a Nevada-based artist working in the medium of large format photography. He holds a BFA from SUNY Purchase and is an MFA candidate at the University of Hartford. His work has been exhibited at CEPA Gallery, Albright-Knox Art Gallery, Burchfield Penney Art Center and is in the collection of the Museum of Contemporary Photography.

STATEMENT: The selected work is from the forthcoming series MorningStar. Set in Southern Nevada, MorningStar is the journey of an outsider into the city of Las Vegas. Working predominantly with a view camera, Scheuttle engages the chaotic city with a sense of stillness. The places and people in MorningStar appear to hang at the edge of a looming storm, illuminated by the harsh sun and endless neon.
