STATEMENT: The sources of the imagery in these paintings are drawn from the generative manipulations of satellite photographs of Martian topography and computer models of growth mechanisms in physical and chemical systems. The mathematical and schematic representations work toward an abstract notion of landscape on extreme micro and macro scales. Geometric illusion and high keyed color bring a playful aspect to the landscape of theoretical possibilities.
